ASICS, now known as ASICS Sportstyle, was founded in 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka - the man behind Onitsuka Tiger. An acronym for the Latin phrase "anima sana in corpore sano" meaning "healthy soul in a healthy body", the Men's and Women's ranges in the ASICS footwear collection draws on its rich sports history and either recreates perfect retro editions or appropriates heritage footwear designs for faithful homages. Enjoying a resurgence in popularity since the 2010s, ASICS wisely continued its reissues of radical sneaker lines such as the GEL-Lyte III and GEL-Saga after successful collaborative efforts with KITH's Ronnie Fieg, Hanon, Patta, and Woei amongst others.
