Asics brings back a mid 2000s distance runner that's been updated for the daily grind on the GEL-Nimbus 9. The GEL-Nimbus 9, initially designed as a distance trainer for neutral and supinated runners in 2007, resurfaces with original materials and key accent details from the Y2K era, with bold contrast and color blocking across the layered mesh and synthetic leather paneling of the upper. In this era of performance footwear, Asics shifted towards a more segmented midsole design, though the GEL technology inserts remain in the heel and forefoot to create better cushioning and more stable step.
